Yangon, Myanmar: The 27th SEA games which will be held in Myanmar and it will lasts for 10 days in December 2013. According to Weekly Eleven News Journal in Myanmar, the SEA games dates will be from 11th to 21st of December 2013. Weekly Eleven News Journal also reported that 27th SEA games will be celebrated in 4 different places of Myanmar, namely Nay Pyi Taw, which is the newly formed capital city of Myanmar, Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwe Saung Beach. It is also known that the places to be celebrated will be confirmed in SEA game Committee meeting, which is expected to be held in the first week of June 2012, at Nay Pyi Taw. Weekly Eleven News Journal reported that specific dates for the each tournament, place and type of sports will also be made known in that meeting.
Za Byu Thi Ri football stadium together with sporting theatre is now being constructed in Nay Pyi Taw for the upcoming SEA games. Zay Yar Thi Ri football stadium is also one of the construction projects for the SEA games and it is reported that about 70 percent of football stadiums and sporting theatres construction project has finished in Nay Pyi Taw. Moreover, one international standard football stadium is now being constructed in Mandalay and Weekly Eleven News Journal reported that football stadium and sporting theatre inMandalaywill be finished in December this year.
It is planned to hold tournaments for 32 sports for the 27th SEA games and national football tournament will be held in Nay Pyi Taw andMandalay. Six types of sports including women football tournament and FUSAL football tournament will be held inYangon. Some sources said SEA games competition committee is considering some of the national football tournaments to be held inYangonalso. Yachting tournament will take place inNgweSaungBeachwhich is a five hours drive fromYangon.
Weekly Eleven News Journal reported that opening ceremony will be celebrated on December 11th and both opening ceremony and closing ceremonies will be held in Za Byu Thi Ri football stadium, located in Nay Pyi Taw. It is known that the committee will try its best for Myanmarto be in top three of international standings in upcoming sea games. One of the committee members told that they will not grant citizenship to the foreign athletes to get a better position in 27th SEA game.
