Myanmar Pilot Training:

If you’re looking for a Myanmar pilot training school, The Myanmar Post News Journal reported that, an abandoned airfield, Chan Mya Thar Si airfield could be the first ever private pilot training school in Myanmar. The Myanmar Post News Journal stated that minister office from Ministry of Transportation has sent an invitation letter to a private company for the pilot school training opportunity.

In reply to “International Gateways of Company” from ministry of transportation, it is stated that even though it can be possible due to “Act of Myanmar”, it is necessary that “International Gateways of Company” needs to present a proposal to Myanmar Investment Commission according to the usual procedure in Myanmar. The Myanmar Post News Journal reported that there will be some negotiations between “International Gateways of Company” and Ministry of Transportation.

The runway of Chan Mya Thar Si airfield provides a good location for establishing a Myanmar pilot training center. Located in Mandalay division, was 4,000 feet long and 75  feetwide; and currently extended to become 6,000 feet long with 100 feet wide so that 75 tans air craft such as F-28 and larger ones can be landed in Chan Mya Thar Si Air Field.  It was built to be used as a local airport but since year 2000, September, Ta Dar Oo air field have been used as official international airport and Chan Mya Thar Si air field had been abandoned.  And now it is going to operate again with the Myanmar pilot training schools. It will be a big opportunity for the young whose dream is to become a pilot for domestic or international airlines.

It is also a big advantage for the country as with these private pilot training schools in the country, quality pilots can be raised up in its own land.  The Myanmar Post News Journal also reported that if the negotiation can be made successfully between “International Gateways of Myanmar” and Ministry of Transportation, not only pilot training but also some more aviation schools and even private flying clubs can also become a possibility in future.  If everything happens as planned, Chan Mya Thar Si air field will become a crowded place again and it will surely be popular because of the private flying clubs in addition to the Myanmar pilot training center. As the abandoned Chan Mya Thar Si airfield has 6,500 feet long runway, it can also be used as an backup airfield for the current Mandalay International Airport, Ta Dar Oo Airport.
